Getting around: The hotel is in Charleston’s historic district, within blocks of shops, restaurants, and the waterfront, so walking is the most popular way of getting around. Carriage tours stop outside the door. Taxis are also available. To see outlying attractions, guests can make reservations on a tour bus, which then picks them up at the hotel. Guests who plan extensive local travel, especially outside the city, should consider renting a car. CARTA, the city bus system, can be difficult to navigate and is not recommended for tourists.
